Hi,
for us it is a combination of DD feeding herself with the spoon or fork and us also feeding her. At least with us feeding her the bulk of the meal she gets her tummy full and still is able to feed herself inbetween us feeding her if that makes sense. Sometimes she eats her sandwiches herself at lunch and other times she wants me to help her.
Time also plays a big factor and if pushed for time, then I feed her.
