Hi there,
A perfectly good question.
DD tries to feed herself with spoon or mini fork but gets frustrated depending what food it is. e.g noodles or spagetti (although I chop it up) she will say " mum, help" and I will then feed it to her then 2 minutes later she'll say " I do it" and tries herself again. With things like sausages, fish fingers, potatoes etc I cut them up for her so she can use her fork.
I bought the pack with the little fork and spoon from Target for DD at around 20 months, she loves them as they have Madagascar animals on them and finds it easier to stab the fork into certain foods so she can feed herself
Sandwiches I cut into 4 triangles. If I think something is too big I will cut it for her so she can feed it to herself.
It is such a transformation once they reach toddlerhood on how determined they become to do things themselves.
Have fun with it.
Lesley
